Performing Arts
The Bloom Performing Arts Programme provides students of all ages with a supportive, cooperative environment in which to explore the fine and performing arts. We believe that the arts are an exciting and essential part of the learning process and that artistic talent is innate and waiting to be developed in every person.
Our philosophy is for the children to create art by interaction with their peers, to understand and think about their roles as creative individuals. The programme is taught by professional teaching artists and is designed to strengthen language development, develop critical thinking skills as well as to promote literacy and improve learning outcomes overall. The students work on a play or a film project which culminates with a performance or a show at the end of the school year.
Our Performing arts programme is designed to encourage active participation of all students, because each individual who attends it contributes directly to parts of the creative process. Indeed, children themselves devise principal ideas for all of the plays, set design, choreography, music and other elements of theatre and filmmaking. In each of the art disciplines, students gain hands-on experience in an advanced, progressive curriculum emphasising critical thinking, interdisciplinary and multicultural learning, leadership skills, and historical context.

A Ground-Breaking University Music Course for Children up to 5 Years Old
Ruth Travers, FLCM, is the founder and director of Stave House. She has been teaching and composing music for over thirty years.
The Stave House method teaches children to read, play and write music from an early age. Musical skills that will grow with them for the rest of their lives. Stave House teaching is progressive and suitable for children with little or no music exposure.
The Stave House teaching is progressive, suitable for children with little or no music exposure.
It uses a series of creative characters to engage children through storytelling and nursery rhymes. The characters represent the musical notes and their values – like Ferdie the Fox for F and Father Crotchet for a single beat. When combined the characters make music. Children are also taught to arrange the notes to their liking , and re-ordering them to hear the different aural effects. This gives them exposure to music composing.
The Stave House method is accredited and endorsed by the London College of Music, or LCM. This not only affirms the quality of the Stave House teaching, it also means that along the way children will have the opportunity to mark progress and obtain recognition through structured assessments.
The four-level Stave House method is designed for all musical instruments. The teaching will equip children with the knowledge and tools that will last their lifetime.
